Gold is obviously pretty perfect for holiday decor, but it can go well beyond the Christmas season for that little touch of glam all year round. I especially love gold with a healthy dose of black as seen in these images:
Years ago I was a dedicated silver-lover, I thought it was the more modern and sleek metal. But I now appreciate both metals equally, and I think in the right amount and style gold can have such a modern look! Add flair with a simple pillow {KWID}, or a statement piece like this gorgeous side table {Neiman Marcus - in my opinion it would add the finishing touch to any space!}:

I like both metals but I am a gold girl from way back. I think it is because I actually look better in gold because of my coloring. I have a friend that use to call me the golden girl!! Kathysue

I love that little scroll table - so cute! Gold is very big now - after silver being popular for so long. It seems different metals rotate in popularity about every 10 years. So it'll likely be gold for the next few years and then it'll be silver or brass again after that.
That Neiman Marcus table is to die for and it would definitely be perfect in MY space - umm LOVE! I agree about the gold.. I used to be a silver only girl - now I like the mix. I don't think I will ever want 'all gold' as much as I liked all silver though. Great examples.

I'm not a fan of polished gold (looks too much like the brass I've been trying to eradicate from our house!), but the brushed gold finish is quite nice.

This is a post to my own heart. I've always been crazy about gold, but lately I've come to like silver equally much (just like you, but in opposite direction =). I wonder why gold always looks its best paired with black? hmm... the questions of life haha. the wreath is just perfect, and I love the pillow and the rug too!
