I love the glamorous and cozy look of black walls, and don't let the title of this post fool you... black paint is still a big trend right now.
However, I've been noticing another little trend popping up; dark, inky blue walls create a similarly warm, den-like feel. The rooms below might be enough to convince you to move on over to the dark side {at least in a library, bedroom, or any other space that doesn't require a lot of light}.
The current issues of both House & Home and Style at Home have great examples of this, they've got me wanting to run out and buy a can of inky blue paint for my home office!

It's even cozy in the bedroom:
Glossy inky blue walls, books, and herringbone floors. Perfection.

These inky indigos seem well-suited to a den-like space, I'm loving this look!

This colour is devine. I have to say it would be an easy transition colour from the dramatic oversized furniture and heavy fabrics it look so great with to some linens and whites with shell accessories for that beach vibe. A really versatile colour thanks for the inspiration.
Nancy, I love this color and its hues. I have put the Indigo in my entry and den!
It is beautiful all times of the day.

Oooh me too! I've been collecting images with this color left and right lately. Great post!
lovely inky blue!!! gorgeous!
One of my sons bedroom was navy blue with white trim and white furniture and a bedspread white with navy pinstripes that was29 yrs ago. It is so funny how things always come back around again. I am not sure it was being done then but I did it!!! Loved that room and it would still work today! KATHYSUE
All these rooms are stunning and I just loved the yellow sette in the second picture.
You had me at the title, lovely lady! Gorgeous color, I must say -- I am very drawn to it, especially paired with white, gold and that stunning orange. How warm and how chic -- very inspiring.
I hope you are having a fabulous weekend, my friend,

I love all of these images! Oh where can I do this in my home?
I'm becoming a fan as well. Im using teal blues in my home, and I'm loving the mix with the midnight/navy.I'ts all about balancing the dark and the light, isn't it? Great pics.
great post love it xxx
Dying over this round up! Miles Redd, Amanda Nisbet, and omg that dining room...makes me want to rethink every paint choice in my home! :)
I was drawn to those rooms as welll. My son wants dark blue wall in his room, I might just give it a whirl. These images have given me confidence to maybe just try it! I love the room with the white bedding from House and Home and the gentlemen's den in the 2nd and 3rd image. I really want to incorporate a Hudson's Bay blanket and dark inky blue walls might really be the ticket!
Glad you love our images! Feel free to link back to us at www.houseandhome.com.

Loving this look too!! The Style at Home article is where I found the wallpaper that I want to use in our dining room.
Dark inky blue walls could look great in an entry or a powder room too.

This is the perfect replacement for my never loved, not quite right dark grey in my dining room. Glossy Ink!! Love it!
Wow. I love all of the layers of textures in the photo from the November issue of Style at Home. I love the chair rail. The texture and colors of the walls and chairs go together perfectly. That piece of art and lighting fixture were also meant to be together. This dining room is gorgeous.
